What type of astrology do you practice?

My primary interest is in Hellenistic/Medieval astrology. I am mostly familiar with traditional techniques, such as annual profections, zodiacal releasing, triplicity lords, rulers of the places. I draw from all types of sources though and don't hold myself so tightly to a specific type of astrologer as I usually take in what I find valuable to my own praxis through experimentation and empirical observation of my own natal chart and others. All that being said, I use whole signs house system. At this current moment I study horary, electional, natal, and astrological magic.

What is your consultation style like?

I specialize more in timing. I find that timing techniques provide valuable context for understanding one's current life circumstances, so I typically focus on that aspect. For our consultation to be most effective, it's best approached as a conversation. You share details about your situation, I delve into the astrology behind it, and together we integrate the two to gain deeper perspective and possible solutions. During our time, I will be asking questions for more clarity and context. Things I am comfortable with, but are optional: increasing emotional well-being, help with re-framing past experiences, setting goals, increasing motivation. I understand that people have real life problems. You've come to me because you have a concern. I am more than willing helping you set goals. Things I am not qualified or comfortable with: treating mental illness, clinical anxiety or depression, healing past trauma, abuse, treating addiction or substance abuse, predicting death, giving medical advice.

How did you get into astrology?

My first encounter with astrology was when I was around 12. I began reading books at books-a-million and read a lot about sun signs, spirituality, and ghosts. I got invested into astrology even more when I was in my Saturn Return, since then I have taken courses, read a bunch of books, and practiced with friends, family, and clients.

What is your philosophy?

I firmly believe that life's most valuable treasures are accessible through a blend of purpose, self-awareness, and ongoing development. I'm of the view that uncovering meaning and happiness requires the formulation of personal principles that resonate with our values and nurture a profound sense of contentment. Self-reflection and introspection are essential tools for comprehending our behaviors, allowing us to navigate life with purpose and empathy so that we might take action towards what draws and calls to us.

Why should I book a reading with you?

I am not only a person with insight, but a person who wants clients to leave feeling empowered to take action and live their life in the most intentional way. I dedicate a minimum of 3-4 hours of prep work for natal consultations. My consultation pricing is based on my years of experience, certification, and time/effort that goes into the process of making this time together productive and enlightening. At the end of our consultation you will receive a recording.

What information do I need to give you?

Date of Birth: If you don’t know your exact birth date and have exhausted all avenues to find it, consider exploring rectification.
Time of Birth: Ideally down to the minute. Please provide the source of your birth time. A rounded birth time can be acceptable if the Ascendant is not too close to a sign boundary. See the section below on what to do if you don’t know your birth time.
Place of Birth: City/State/Country. If there are multiple places with the same name as your birth place, please specify the county/district on the intake form.

Here are several methods to help you find your birth time:

- Birth Certificate: Typically reliable, though the recorded time might be rounded to the nearest hour or half-hour, or it might not be listed at all.

- Hospital Records: If you were born in a hospital, your birth time might be on your hospital bracelet or in their archives.

- Family Records: Check baby books or other family records where the time might have been recorded.

- Birth Announcement: If your birth was announced in a local newspaper, you might find clues about the birth time in archived editions.

- Email/Social Media: Look for any records or clues on your parents' email or social media accounts if they were active at the time of your birth.

- Ask Parents/Relatives: Even if they don’t know the exact time, they might remember what part of the day it was.

If you exhaust these avenues without success:

- Rectification: An astrologer can use all available clues and a chronology of significant life events to approximate your birth time.

- Generalized Reading: I can still provide a general consultation without a precise birth time, though interpretations will be more generalized.

These steps should help you gather the necessary information or proceed with alternative options if your birth time remains unknown or uncertain.

What can I do to make this experience flow smoothly?

Before scheduling your appointment, please consider the following recommendations for an optimal session experience:

Device Recommendation:

For the best experience, it is recommended to use a desktop or laptop computer. Zoom sessions can be recorded directly onto your device, downloading to your specified downloads folder upon session completion. Please note, recording onto mobile phones or tablets through Zoom is not supported. If you have consented to a backup recording by me, please be aware that my storage capacity is limited and timely provision of the recording cannot be guaranteed.

Before Scheduling an Appointment:
- Ensure you will not be driving during the appointment time.
- Ensure you will not be working during the appointment time.
- Ensure young children are adequately supervised during the appointment time.
- Avoid scheduling during times when interruptions or distractions are likely.
- Ensure you will be in a safe, secure, and private environment for the duration of the appointment.

Prior to the Scheduled Appointment:
- Ensure a stable internet connection.
- Check that your microphone is operational.
- If you wish to use video, ensure your camera is working; however, video participation is optional.
- If using a mobile device, ensure it is adequately charged or have a charger on hand.
- Have a phone available as a backup in case of technical issues.
- Use only your personal device and account to safeguard your privacy.
- Ensure access to the email address provided for appointment communication.

These steps will help ensure a smooth and productive session. If scheduling conflicts arise, evening and weekend appointments are available through priority and off-schedule options. Your safety and session quality are my priorities.

What are the terms and conditions?

I am not a licensed professional in legal, medical, psychological, or financial fields. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that astrological consultation cannot predict, forecast, diagnose, or provide information with absolute certainty. Any readings, consultations, or advice provided are for entertainment purposes only.

By sharing your birth information with the astrologer, you consent to its use for these specific purposes: to provide the astrological services you have requested, to retain your information for future consultations, and to use it for the astrologer’s private study and research. Any other use of your information, including anonymized or in written or presented materials, will require your explicit, written consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

What is the policy on canceling a consultation?

Clients are required to provide notice of cancellation or rescheduling by email at torismithastrology@gmail.com

48 Hours or More Notice: Clients who provide a cancellation notice of 48 hours or more before their scheduled appointment will be eligible to reschedule the appointment at no additional cost and can receive a full refund. Clients who do not provide 48 hours of notice are able to reschedule or receive half of refund. This is due to the preparation work that I put in for the consultation.

Clients who fail to show up for their appointment without prior notice will not be able to receive refund.
